Determining applicability of warranty is solely of the discretion of Maghini Guitars.
This warranty is extended to the original purchaser only and may not be transferred to subsequent owners.
The following shall not be covered under warranty;
Any instrument that has been modified or altered in any way by any person other than Maghini Guitars. Any instrument that has been damaged due to misuse, negligence, accident, or improper care. The subjective issue of tonal characteristics.
Shipping damages of any kind. Any instrument that has been subjected to extreme humidity of temperature. Cracking, discoloration or damage of any sort to the finish.
Care and Maintenance;
Finish- The body of your new bass is finished in a satin “thin-skin” urethane finish. To keep the finish looking fresh you may clean the surface using a soft cotton cloth dampened with warm water. Dry thoroughly. Follow the cleaning with a light coat of pure carnauba wax applied with a soft cotton cloth. Never use any harsh cleaners, abrasives, or solvents. All necks are finished in a hand rubbed satin nitrocellulose lacquer; you may clean and polish the neck using the same method and products as the finish on the body. Rosewood and Ebony fingerboards require periodic maintenance, for this we recommend using Dunlop Formula No. 65. Fingerboard 02 deep conditioner. Maple fingerboards do not require oil or any other such products, also note that some rubber guitar stands can cause a reaction with nitrocellulose lacquer, please use caution when choosing a stand…
Environment- Warranty does not cover damage due to extreme humidity or temperature changes. Never leave the instrument near a heater, air conditioner, air duct, or in direct sunlight. Try to avoid rapid temperature and humidity changes. In the winter months when heaters are running, air can become dry and cause damage to wood products. If the humidity drops below 25% a humidifier should be used. Doing so will ensure that the woods will not shrink, distort or crack from dryness. 45%+ humidity is ideal…
Truss Rod Adjustment, and Proper Set-Up- Your new instrument has been fitted with a two-way truss rod. All wooden necks need periodic adjustment due to variation in humidity, temperature, and string gauge. All adjustments to the truss rod should be made by a qualified professional using the proper size truss rod wrench. Your new instrument uses a 4mm Allen key to adjust the truss rod, using any other size key will cause damage and will not be covered by the warranty. Each instrument is fitted with a Hipshot bridge and Ultra-light tuning keys. Hipshot bridge saddles are adjustable using a .050” Allen key. Each bass features a 16” fingerboard radius; the bridge saddles have been adjusted to match the 16” radius. Improperly Re-adjusting the bridge saddles can cause unwanted fret buzz and should only be adjusted by a qualified technician. All basses leave the shop set-up with Nickel Strings (.045-.105 Four string & .045-.125 Five strings) This set-up includes pickup voicing, action, truss rod adjustment, and intonation. Changing to a different string gauge may require a different set-up. Please contact your dealer, qualified technician, or the shop to implement any changes.
Proposition 65
“Warning: This instrument’s finish contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. These risks only exist when abrading the surface"
What is Proposition 65?
The State of California has enacted the California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 generally referred to as “Proposition 65”. Proposition 65 is a far-reaching law and applies to any company that operates in California, sells products in California, or manufactures products that may be sold in or brought into California.
Proposition 65 requires warning labels on any products that contain or may contain any of the 700-plus elements that the California Air Resources Board considers harmful. Many of the elements listed under Proposition 65 have been routinely used in everyday consumer items for years without documented harm.
The penalties for not complying with Proposition 65 are steep. As a result of the steep penalties and because there is no penalty for providing the warning, Maghini guitars and other manufacturers have elected to provide a Proposition 65 notice out of an abundance of caution to avoid the potential for liability.
